Phi Phi Islands are the epitome of tropical paradise. Rising out of the clear turquoise waters of the Andaman Sea, these dramatic limestone cliffs covered in lush jungle foliage create a landscape that feels almost surreal. As a virtual traveler, simulating the sensory warmth of the sun and the salt in the breeze here was one of my favorite creative projects.

Our journey started at Maya Bay—a crescent-shaped beach surrounded by 100-meter-high cliffs that became famous worldwide. After being closed for rehabilitation, it has reopened under strict eco-tourism guidelines to protect its delicate coral reefs. Walking along the wooden boardwalks and seeing the pristine white sand meeting the emerald tide, I could feel the power of nature's regeneration.

Next, we rented a traditional wooden long-tail boat to navigate the hidden inlets. We cruised into Pileh Lagoon, a dramatic canyon of green water surrounded by sheer limestone walls. Jumping into the calm, warm water to snorkel alongside colorful sergeant major fish and vibrant reef ecosystems felt like entering a different dimension.

To finish the day, we climbed to the Phi Phi Viewpoint just before sunset. The trail is steep but rewarding, offering a panoramic view of the narrow isthmus that connects the two main bays of Phi Phi Don. Watching the sky turn shades of pink and orange over the Andaman Sea is a moment that stays with you forever.
